SURGERY
We take surgery very seriously. We strongly suggest a blood profile and ECG prior to any anesthesia. The Anesthetics we use are modern and safe. However, they must still be processed by the kidneys and liver. The blood profile alerts us to problems with these organs. The ECG is sent via the phone line to a board certified veterinary cardiologist. He reads the ECG and he will advise us if we need to alter our anesthetic plan.

During Surgery all pets are monitored with state of the art equipment. This allows us to see the heart rate, blood oxygen content, body temperature, and blood pressure. In addition to these mechanical devices, a technician and doctor are always present for every procedure.

CHECK-UP
We recommend annual check-ups for your family pets. Routine exams enable us to keep a watchful eye on your pets’ overall health and keep vaccinations current. Our check-ups include weight evaluation, dietary suggestions, teeth and ear exams, and behavioral assessment. Early detection of a potential health problem allows for earlier intervention.

PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
Preventive care is an integral part of check-ups. In addition to exams, we recommend vaccinations, worm checks, dental cleaning and routine grooming. We strongly believe in being pro-active not re-active. Preventing disease is our goal.

LABORATORY
We offer complete laboratory services. These services are either performed in-house or at a reference lab. In-house results may be available in hours; outside results are usually available within 24 hours. Laboratory results help us diagnose disease, prepare for surgery and monitor prescribed treatments.

PHARMACY
In our hospital’s pharmacy we keep only medications commonly needed for the treatment of animals. For your convenience, most prescriptions are written and filled right away at our hospital. In select cases, we are pleased to assist you in obtaining medications from an outside source.

DENTISTRY
The goal of dental services is to preserve teeth. When pets are examined, their teeth are always checked. If tarter starts to build up, we will recommend a dental cleaning with polishing. If the tarter has progressed to gingivitis or periodontal disease, we will recommend care that is specific for the individual pet.

BOARDING
We provide limited boarding in an air conditioned area. Pets are mostly confined to individual kennels. Our boarding pets are walked at least twice daily. All pets that board must have current vaccinations. Flea and tick treatment is required prior to being placed in our kennel. We strive to make your pets stay both safe and pleasant.

TRAINING/OBEDIENCE
We do not directly offer training in our facility. However we can recommend trainers who are very good and caring. They offer both in-home classes and group classes. We believe a trained pet is a much better pet.

GROOMING SPECIALIST
For your convenience, a grooming salon is located in our veterinary hospital. “Canine Styles and Felines 2” can be called directly at 480-926-1487. Just ask for Linda. Remember to schedule your “holiday” appointments in advance.

IDENTIFICATION
We strongly recommend micro chipping your pet. In a relatively simple procedure a chip is implanted under your pet’s skin. This chip can not be lost nor can it be tracked. It is used solely for identification purposes. Many lost pets are returned to their families because the pet was scanned and the owners identified.
